Benchmark Pro™ Test Point

Air Sampling Smoke Detection System (ASD) performance is contingent on the design and integrity of its sampling pipe network, whereby smoke transport time is an indicative metric of performance verification. Benchmark test points at the end of each pipe branch serving an ASD detector are commonly used for achieving this verification.

In practice, ASD technicians record smoke transport times from benchmark test points during commissioning, compare the data to design calculations then record the results for future inspections. When inspecting ASD systems smoke transport time tests are repeated and the results compared with benchmark data to verify pipe integrity and system performance.

Benchmark Pro test point uniquely addresses the requirement for testing by providing a self-contained fail-safe mechanism with integrated NFC smart chip technology for storing and retrieval of benchmark and inspection data (iOS/Android compatible). Unlike alternative methods, the Benchmark Pro is purpose built, doesn’t require external components for operation, cannot be left partially open like with ball valve methods, is corrosion resistant, is simple to use, and permanently stores data for retrieval alleviating technicians from sourcing historical or missing documentation.
