Space Age was founded and named for a time when
Americans achieved the impossible.

We built our small business with the same qualities that led mankind to the moon: ethics, loyalty, and hard work. Passed down from generation to generation, we have never lost these deep-rooted founding values. Decades of practice has bred knowledge; a powerful tool that has built a team fueled by passion and enthusiasm to overcome every obstacle in our path. The true measure of our team is unity. Through hard work, perseverance, and lifelong bonds, our common goals are always within reach. These goals bring wisdom, and this wisdom guides our instincts. It guides our focus. It guides not only the thrill of a challenge, but the pride of every success.

The values and the lessons learned along our way towards the American Dream are timeless, and their memories are gifts that will live on through every new adventure. Enriched through every trial and tribulation, we cherish these gifts like the dawn of a brighter day. They drive success through creative solutions and innovation. They inspire the courage and drive to make dreams into reality. With passion in our hands, distance will have no limit and evolution no end.

This is our story, and we hope it inspires you to discover your own.

Whether labeling cabinets or printing multi-colored customer branding, our screening team produces crisp, clean graphics on every product that needs bold lettering or a standout logo using:

  • 3 automated and 2 manual screening stations
  • Plotter, exposure unit, and washout booth for in-house screen production

Plastic Assembly

Taking injection molded material from our manufacturing partner, our plastic assembly team finishes and tests every surge protection device that leaves our shelves with:

  • Branson ultrasonic welders
  • High-production pad printers
  • Mechanical and electrical testing stations

Automated Metal Punching

All of our sheet metal is sent through one of 5 punch presses, including our automated Amada EMK 3612 MII that features:

  • 55 station turret with punch/form and machine tapping stations
  • 33 ton servo ram
  • 9 shelf auto stock loader/unloader
  • 3 shelf parts remover
  • Lights-out operation capability
  • 120” x 60” work envelope
  • Accuracy to 0.0005”
  • Direct CAD to machine programming with Dr.ABE_Blank software

Robotic Metal Forming

The same metal that goes through our punching process is then formed by one of 6 press brakes, led by an Amada EG 6013 AR Robotic Bending Cell with:

  • Direct programming from 3D model
  • Auto tool and gripper changers
  • Accuracy to 0.001" and 0.1 minutes
  • Capability to run jobs lights out

Robotic Welding

Our fabrication facility boasts welding capabilities of TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW), Arc (SMAW), and Oxy-Acetylene thanks to our fleet of 5 spot welders and a robotic Miller PerformArc PA350S featuring:

  • Accuracy up to 0.001”
  • GTAW welding capability of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Filler-rod capability
  • 2 identical rotating work surfaces for loading and unloading while the robot is in operation
  • Point-to-point teach programming for maximum accuracy

Graphics

Modern annunciation and smoke control requires a complex level of detail, and our in-house team is ready to tackle any graphic requirements with:

  • CET Q5-500 5’x8’ CMYKW flatbed plotter
  • 52” Drytac laminator
  • Latex roll plotters

Quality Control

Maintaining precision and quality in our production process is critical, whether it be regimented tool sharpening or meticulous inspection with an Amada FabriVision FVL-HD4848. This scanner cuts down manual QC time from 45 minutes to 15 seconds and integrates with our automated punch press to scan an initial punch before a full run using:

  • 48x48” scanning surface
  • Reflective laser accurate to 0.0001”
